Lexington Catholic wins state baseball title
Lexington Catholic behind the pitching of MVP Frank Carter came back to defeat Owensboro 5-3 to win the Kentucky state baseball championship.
Friday action sets up Owensboro against Lex.Catholic for the title.
Harrison County beats Trinity early only to lost 10-0 to Lexington Catholic in the night cap. Owensboro tops Bullitt East to set up championship game against Lexington Catholic.
2009 state baseball-First round
Day 1 of the state baseball tournament saw upstart Owensboro defeat Lawrence County, Bullitt East ripped South Laurel, and Lexington Catholic defeat Marshall County after a long lightning delay. Trinity vs Harrison County…too late for deadline after the rain delay.
