RACE TV

The clouds, and a little rain, moved in to Keeneland on April 7 just in time for the feature race. It got dark enough for the infield TV to show up pretty well on a still photo. This is the start of The Transylvania stakes, on grass, which brings the horses closer to the TV than the dirt track. I’ve seen similiar photos shot at Rupp Arena, with the TV showing the same action as the “live” event in the foreground. One other thing: the shutter was set to 1/160 to get a little blur in the hoofs and background while panning the camera. -Dave Perry
