As the smarty pants in the Bluegrass analyze the departure of UK coach Tubby Smith, let’s take a look at at least one set of coaches from Kentucky who haven’t changed much over the last three years.

March 18, 2004. Former UL coach Denny Crum shared some popcorn with former UK coach Joe B. Hall while watching the Boys’ Sweet Sixteen tournament.

Fast-forward to today, March 22, 2007.

Looks like the only thing to change was Denny’s sweater. You can’t make this stuff up.

  1. Jon Akers says:

Tubby was never the fit at Kentucky, his recruiting did not fit the mold of anyone that ever coached there, and I think the chris Lofton deal was the straw that broke the back.we need to get back into Kentucky High Schools,to many leaving the state

  2. Mark Cornelison says:

Great shot! You are the man.

  3. James says:

People in kentucky lost one of the best coaches in the country in tubby smith this week.its not tubbys coaching its the fan base i never heard such nonsense an throw backs against one man in my life i am ashamed of the people in this state.

  4. Amy Crawford says:

If you don’t look too closely, it appears that Coach Hall never left the arena! I had to do a double take and looker closer at the collars on his shirts to make sure. Great photos David.

  5. Mike says:

Great shots, both! I say let’s hire them both as interim head co-coaches for next year. When the game got dull, we could watch them butt heads on the sideline!
