Simply Summer- Bubbles!
June 5, 2007
Simply summer is a little project thought up by our features department. It is fun little stuff that is a traditional part of summer, like popsicles, and lemonade etc. Problem is to go out and "find" these situations is near impossible. When is the last time you happened upon some children making mud pies? Exactly. So to deal with the problem we are doing photo illustrations of most of them. I had my first last week doing bubbles. I had been to dinner at a friends house the night before I had the shoot and his daughter Tory, was blowing bubbles so it was an obvious choice. She is picture perfect and I knew she would be a great model.
I bought some bubble machines as well as a gallon of bubble mix, and a few different wands. It was a really sunny day and I knew back lighting the bubbles would be the best way to show them. After about an hour of shooting and nearly the entire gallon of bubbles I had several good shots to turn in. We ended up using the photo with Tory out of focus in the background to draw the attention to the bubbles. We did not get to use the photo Tory liked best (below), but now she can tell her friends it is here on this blog for the world to see!

The above pictures of Tory were so good! Tory’s mom, Angie, is my husband’s first cousin. Angie sent us the link and we enjoyed seeing the great pictures of Tory on the internet. Keep up the great work!
