Getting a good rap

Here’s our latest endeavor in the video realm:

Local hip hop group, the CunninLynguists, were featured in our Sunday, Aug. 5 story in the Herald-Leader. I couldn’t think of a better use of video and audio than on a story about musicians. It was especially interesting for me because it’s a scene I’m quite unfamiliar with.

Much of this video was shot during one of their performances at The Dame in downtown Lexington on June 22. I’m normally very much comfortably asleep when The Dame is just gearing up, so I was pleasantly surprised at how active downtown Lexington can be at night.

Our summer online intern Danielle Trusso helped me out that night, giving us a second camera to shoot the performance, and she did a great job getting some colorful interviews of fans on the street outside.
