A Horse Lover’s Wish

April 24, 2008

Patrick Munro, 9, from Long Island, N.Y., is blind and hearing impaired but that hasn’t hindered his love for horses. Last week, The Make-A-Wish Foundation granted Patrick’s wish to come to Kentucky and experience horses on a grand scale, something he has only dreamed.

Patrick spent April 17, 2008 with John Greely and his mother at Keeneland where he met Garrett Gomez and experienced the biggest race of his life.

I’m proud to say that the Kentucky Jaycees have partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation this year to make dreams come true. Children like Patrick are the reason we made that decison. So far we’ve raised enough to grant one wish, and we’re on our way to granting another. If this isn’t something you currently support, I encourage you to do some reasearch and join the cause!

Got something to say?
