Swinging into Summer

Summer can’t officially start until the annual Elizabeth Ann Seton Country Fair has arrived. “This is the start of summer and the end of school,” said Mary Buckles as she watched her daughter, C.J. Buckle climb down from the swings. “And it’s a great fund raiser for the church.”

The fair drew hundreds to the church for funnel cake, corn dogs, live music, rides and a chance to win a raffle for $5,000. Audrey Weber, 4, could be found in games, not the least concerned with winning money. Weber had just won a gold fish with the toss of a ping pong ball. “Mommy, I got one! I got one!” She shouted. Holding the bag close to her face, Weber starred at her new pet, then turned to show her whole family.

The fair isn’t just fun for the kids though. Mike Folczyk from Lexington found himself swirling around on the rides and sliding the Fun Slide with his two sons, Bryan and Seth. Immediately after one ride, his sons were looking for the next.
