Officer Don flies a WWII-era Warbird

July 20, 2008

Most days, Lexington Police Officer Don Evans, who is better known as “Officer Don”, can be found flying a police helicopter or reporting from the air as a traffic reporter for WKYT-TV. But in the evenings, he can often be found flying a 60-year-old WWII era warbird. The plane is one of 15 war-era planes owned and flown by Mojo Aerospace at Blue Grass Airport. I served in the USAF as a A/C radio repairman and flew some on the C-124; I have a Flight Simulator on my computer and I love ‘flying’ in any shape or form. People like me can only dream about what Officer Don gets to actually experience when he really ‘flies’ an airplane. That must be incredible! He has wonderful opportunities and I know that he (as my wife and I often say) “treasures the moment”. I’m very happy for him.

PS And I do love my Flight Simulator. It brings me great joy.
