Actually, even if you have no artistic talent, you could cheat using a projector connected to a PC/Laptop (or a overhead projector with a bright bulb and photocopies on acetate sheets… like old grade school kind of stuff).

  2. POINTED says:

WOW Is right, he got super deal on ebay!.

    looks SHARPIE

  3. Susan says:

    I think it’s very cool looking….

  4. Idiot Box says:

Yeah this man likes to show off his possessions more then his art, I like most of it though even though a lot of the shiza is all crooked and stuff. Now he needs to color it all in and then it will be kwel. I give it a 7 out of 11

Wow! That sure is going to take a lot of primer if they paint over that.

    • Tisi says:

Not really. Rubbing alcohol takes it off most things completely, and would make it a lot lighter on the walls. If it was full gloss paint it would take it off completely. Either way, if he uses rubbing alcohol first it should only take 1 coat.

You can’t paint over sharpie. It will always show through.

Besides, anyone who wants to paint over that is an ass…

  7. amos says:

  8. tAyLoR29 says:

that is AMAZING…whoever said that is my uncle you are soo lucky and be greatful

  9. $10 for the marker, if he hadn’t spent $49,990 to decorate the rest of his basement he might of been able to afford more than one colour!

    • The Language Police says:

Might have, might have, you moron! “might of” means nothing. Learn the language before using it.

    • M- says:

COLOR? Guess you wouldn’t know class or art if it slapped you in the face..black and white is class..but I’d bet you haven’t the talent to draw a stick person. This guy did an awesome job.. only wish I had the talent to do something like this.

  10. I just found this blog and I am amazed at it. Some people have all the fun in the world talking about spending $10. What else could we do with it?

    Not a lot really.

    Thanks for sharing

      • Lois says:

There’s also a Vader mask on the wall. XD This guy is pretty cool. I never would have thought to use something as simple as a Sharpie pen to draw on the walls.

  12. Anonymous says:

pretty damn neet, i have the talent to draw like that, but I would not have thought to draw on my walls, creative thinking and a lot of time on your hands. good job!

  13. Simple says:

wow, i was amazed. That was one hell of a creative work. I couldn’t have imagined that could be done in so less money. Congrats…..

  14. pleezecum says:

  15. Ryan says:

Hey I was wondering what technology you used to shoot that amazing room. Please let me know. Thanks

  16. David Stephenson says:

    Ryan,

I stood in the middle of the room with a Canon 5D and 17-35mm f/2.8 lens. I rotated and shot a number of photos that overlapped somewhat. I used Panorama Maker to stitch them together, then used a panorama display module I bought from Flash Loaded. It’s basically Flash that is displaying the stitched photo. Thanks for looking! – David

  21. PutYourHeartinYourWork says:

I love this. The products of creative minds are always the most original and beautiful. The artist’s time was well spent. Just because he didn’t spend his time sitting in an office doesn’t mean his time was wasted; he was nurturing a talent. Too many people today don’t spend enough time exercising creativity. Those who work diligently to create are usually the most productive of us; not worrying that the amount of time invested is too much, but instead trying to make sure enough time is invested.

  22. mimi says:

wow first of all this is just amzing!! i wish i could do this to my walls but im a bad drawer and my mom wont let me lol but also i think the fact that he didnt use a straightedge made it unique and gave it a cool kind of style

  29. Thanks for sharing your very creative basement.

No to do it with a pen, pencil or chalk so that it might be changed some day easily.

Imagine actually allowing our children to create their on rooms with markers, crayons, chalk, pencils.

My mother got made when I drew on my bedroom walls. Many years later I was paid to do it as a graphic designer.

    Great fun

    Fancy a game of pool!

  31. Elise says:

This story would have been more interesting if you told us how many minutes the work consumed. The work is an interesting study in dimension, the work is continuous, yet in some places it adds dimension and in others it takes away. Sometimes Clutter and sometimes not.

  32. AHNA says:

The curtains were drawn – in fact everything was drawn

  40. Did anybody else notice the Computer case he drew on behind the TV? He did a good job of making the picture look flat over it.

  41. CWI says:

Has anyone noticed that this is NOT a basement (recessed lighting, full windows, door to the outside?), as the title implies? It is a ground level living room.

  42. Christa says:

    wooooooow!!!

    seriously amazing idea.

I love it, and am definitely doing it to my room. cool idea!!

  43. Jom says:
