    Mr. Bertram,
Your photographs keep me connected to areas and to the people of Ky that I would not be able to see. Thank you for making my days so much more interesting.

  2. Linda rader says:

I am always checking in when I am missing Kentucky, which is most of the time. Can’t always get back there as often as I want to, so your pictures help me capture a few moments of being home again. Thank you!, Linda

  3. James says:

    Fantastic work

  4. Jodi says:

Charles Bertram is an amazing photographer. The moments he finds and capture tell amazing stories. His photos have personalities of their own. After following Charles’ work for more than 20 years, I can often pick out his photos without even seeing the credit line. The Herald-Leader is fortunate to have Charles on its staff.

  5. Your work is phenomenal. You always find a way to shoot a more interesting angle or to capture something in the perfect light. I always point out your images to my husband. On a recent morning, he replied, “Does the guy ever sleep?” =) From an early morning moon to a fiery sunset to sports to Kentucky backroads, you capture it all with stunning clarity and always with a unique perspective. Here’s to more outstanding images in 2009.

  6. One gets a very special feeling of pride when being introduced to an artisan whose talent and skills are evident in the work he/she does. As a native Kentuckian, who now lives in Texas, the pride is there because someone so gifted has chosen to exercise his skills in my native Kentucky. Thank you for the work you have done in the past and I urge you to continue sharing your work (gifts) with us all. May this new year bring you much deserved recognition and success in the years to come. May God Bless you in all you do. Charles

  7. CB says:

Wow! Charles continue to bring the true beauty of Kentucky to all of us. He is a true artisan! Here’s to another beautiful year in photos, Charles! Thanks for sharing your gift with us. Keep snapping!

  8. John Ball says:

Charles, I truly haven’t found a photo yet that I don’t like. I just don’t know how you can find such great beauty in Kentucky. I guess you’ve got a GREAT EYE!!! Not to mention a GREAT Photographer – we ALL know that!!!

Also, It was great seeing you fight you way on the floor tonight to get a photo of Jodie. I’ve been to several games and haven’t seen you. I thought maybe you had retired and on the baseball trail….

Hang in there. Maybe someday I could do a ride-a-long….
