Music for Dani

Hospice of the Bluegrass music therapist Dale Lewis sang to, and with, Dani Pruitt, Lexington, a 5-year-old with spinal muscular atrophy who is part of a special Hospice program that helps chronically ill children. Aside from the comfort and aide to the parents, the Hospice program Daniel’s Care helps make sure the kids get all the services they need. It is unique to Kentucky and was started in honor of Rick Pitino’s son, Daniel. In this video, Dani’s mother, Beth, explains the benefit of music therapy during one of Lewis’ visits to Dani.
