Butterfly is free


At one time, the Butterfly Mine operated in this tiny former coal camp in Perry County. When it came time to name the town, it was apparently in the midst of being overrun by the colorful, flitting insects leading Mose Feltner to name it Butterfly, Ky. Photographs by Charles Bertram | Staff
