Chariots of ire?

Parking violators in downtown Lexington may find unwelcome citations on their windshields beginning this week. Three outriders, Mike Pope, Michael Lancaster and Carlton Chenault, official enforcement officers for Lexpark, began issuing tickets while riding on their three-wheeled electric chariots for the first time on Tuesday. For the first three months, first-time offenders will receive warning tickets. The goal of Lexpark, a parking enforcement program of the Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority, is to increase the turnover of parking spaces for downtown visitors, said Gary Means, executive director of the parking authority.
